Family and Life in Northeast Ohio

Westlake, Ohio, is home. Here’s a little about the people and places that make everyday life here good.

Family

I love spending time with my family, whether we’re getting together for a meal, celebrating a special occasion, or simply enjoying each other’s company. Nothing elaborate is required. A table full of food and the people I care about is about as good as it gets.

Those get-togethers are the anchor of my week. Birthdays, holidays, a Sunday dinner, or a quick stop by to catch up all count. The occasion matters less than the company.

Westlake, Ohio

Westlake sits on the West Side of Cleveland in Cuyahoga County, about fifteen miles from downtown and a few minutes from the Lake Erie shoreline. It’s a suburb with good neighborhoods, good parks, and easy access to everything the region offers: the Cleveland Metroparks, the lakefront in the neighboring shoreline towns, and a short drive to the city for a game or a night out.

Northeast Ohio

Northeast Ohio gets all four seasons, and I’ve come to appreciate each of them: long summer evenings, fall color in the Metroparks, lake-effect snow in the winter, and the first warm weekend in spring when everyone seems to be outside at once.

It’s a down-to-earth part of the country. People here work hard, show up for each other, and don’t make a big deal of it. That suits me.

More to come. I’ll be sharing more experiences and updates along the way on the Updates page.
